This is a poem I wrote based on many years as a trick-or-treat host.
Halloween Fun
by Bob Welbaum
Halloween can be fun for adults, too.
I like to hold out a bowl of candy —
a nice assortment — and simply say
“You may take one of your choice.”
and watch the little wheels turn.
Which one should I pick?
Which one did my friend pick?
Who goes first?
What if I suddenly change my mind?
(The six-year-old version of buyer’s remorse.)
Do you allow exchanges?
What if my friend changes his/her mind?
Can we all exchange?
How long can I stand here and think?
It’s really great fun!
