I’m sure most people have their summer vacations planned. If not, might you consider a place to stay that’s a little… creepy? If so, I’d like to suggest a Nevada road trip. There are a couple of places in this state than can really get your attention. For example —
The Little A’Le’Inn — “Earthlings Welcome” is the sign in tiny Rachel, Nevada. Remember the “Storm Area 51” initiative? With alien memorabilia decorating the grounds, this inn was one of the focal points for the “Storm Area 51” Facebook initiative. “I stopped counting [the number of requests] after 1,800 missed phone calls in only a three-day period,” owner Connie West told the media. Things are calmer now, but you can see the meeting place for UFO enthusiasts called the “Black Mailbox”, eat an Alien Burger, and take some interesting photos.
The Clown Motel — Tonopah, midway between Las Vegas and Reno, is the location of the only motel I’ve heard of that has had three rooms officially labeled haunted by paranormal experts. These rooms are decorated with life-size paintings of horror movie posters, including Halloween, Friday the 13th and The Exorcist. The Clown Motel earns its name with more than 600 clowns (as in dolls), and the motel has been called “America’s scariest,” partly because the old Tonopah Cemetery is also close by.
Or you could just go camping, but anyone can do that.
